Affiliate disclosure
DexaExplained is reader-supported. Some outbound links are affiliate or referral links: if you click one and book a scan or buy something, the vendor pays this site a commission. You never pay more because of it.
The complete list of relationships (current or pending approval):
- Scan providers — Fitnescity runs a public affiliate program (20%, via Impact); we link BodySpec and DexaFit as plain brand links unless a referral program is active, in which case links are marked sponsored. Provider prices shown on this site come from the providers' own published pages, never from a partnership.
- Body-composition scales — Withings (via FlexOffers) and Renpho (via Awin), for tracking trends between scans. The accuracy guide is blunt that a smart scale is a trend tool, not a DEXA substitute — no commission changes that sentence.
- Amazon Associates — a fallback slot for commodity items; inactive until configured.
Worth stating plainly: the tools' outputs contain no sponsorship input. The cost calculator shows every provider's published price with its source link, cheapest first — including providers who pay us nothing. The results interpreter is built on published reference data (NHANES) that no advertiser can edit.
Every monetized link carries rel="sponsored" markup, and every page containing one displays a disclosure line. All monetized URLs live in a single registry file in the codebase, which makes the claim above auditable. The math is documented on the methodology page and runs entirely in your browser — no link changes its output.
DexaExplained has no relationship with any DEXA equipment manufacturer, and provider names appear only to reference their publicly available pricing and locations.
